How to Update Firmware

This page assumes you have successfully taken Step 1 to Step 5 in the THSCP101 Start Guide.

Step 1 Check ISP Firmware Version

It is highly recommended to update the ISP (THP7312-P) with the latest version, if the version in the THSCP101 is not the latest. You can check the versions by taking the following steps.

Step 1-1 Check Firmware Verion in THSCP101

You can check the version by entering the following command.

v4l2-ctl -d /dev/v4l-subdev1 --get-ctrl=thp7312_firmware_version

Note: thp7312_firmware_version: 'THSCG101:THP7312 firmware version = xx.xx‘

Step 1-2 Check Firmware Version in Released Pack

The version number is found in the README.txt file.

In case of the Linux Binary for THSCP101, the README.txt file is in the .tar.gz file.

Step 2 Preparation for Update

Before updating the firmware, take the following steps.

Step 2-1 Shutdown and Power off Pumpkin

The USB Cable at POWER port must be disconnected.

Step 2-2 Change DIP Switch of THSCP101

Change DIP Switch #4 in the backside of THSCP101 Camera Board from STRM to PRG.

Step 2-3 Power on Pumpkin

Plug the USB Cable to the POWER port and login as root.

Step 3 Update ISP Firmware

In Terminal window, enter following command:

v4l2-ctl -d /dev/v4l-subdev1 --set-ctrl=thp7312_firmware_update=1

Wait for 35 seconds. Then enter

dmesg

to check if the message “Flash Memory: THP7312 Firmware update is completed” is shown.

If shown, the update is completed. If not, try again.

Step 4 Finalize Setup

Step 4-1 Shutdown and Power off Pumpkin

The USB Cable at POWER port must be disconnected.

Step 4-2 Change DIP Switch of THSCP101

Change DIP Switch #4 in the backside of THSCP101 Camera Board from PRG to STRM.

Step 4-3 Power on Pumpkin

Plug the USB Cable to the POWER port and login as root.
